Well, you have to hand it to the strategy team over at Zipcar . How Apple and Google Fell Out of Love [Apple-google War] Apple has sued Google's phone manufacturer for infringing on 20 iPhone patents. Not so long ago, Apple and Google were a nice couple. Then, everything went to hell. The romance began with the iPhone, even while we didn't know about it in 2006. Back then, Steve Jobs invited Google's CEO Eric Schmidt to his house, to sit at his table, and have vanilla-frosted cupcakes and tea together. It was instant love. An Affair to Remember They happily worked in ...

Samsung Jack Cell Phone Review–More Like Samsungberry The more Samsung cell phones I come in contact with, the less I like them. Samsung has irked me almost relentlessly with lower quality phones and phones that do precious little more than tweak the design envelope just enough to avoid derisive mocking. And despite the fact that the good folks out at Puremobile sent me a Samsung Jack to take a look at, all I can think when I’m trying this is that it’s more like the Samsung Black…berry. The Samsung Jack is a ...

Going On 10, Boy Going For Fifth Microsoft Certification [Wunderkind] Say Hello to Markos Calasan. He's nine years old and lives in Macedonia. He's also Microsoft Certified four times over and working on his fifth certificate. (And he prefers Bing.) This is the type of story that warms your heart but also makes you feel a little bad about yourself. Why? Because still in his single digits, Markos is more computer literate than many of us will ever be. Here he describes his first memories of using a computer: But my first memory is from when I ...

Gesture Cube could be the touch device to rule them all Inventions like Microsoft's touch-enabled table have shown us prototype future furniture components while the Apple iPad has shown us the present-day reality of touch interface-powered media. Now a German design team has come up with a kind of hybrid device that marries the two dynamics into something called the Gesture Cube. The cube could be used for anything from PCs to home entertainment systems. You can see video of the concept device in action ...

Microsoft to introduce Zune Phone with Windows Mobile 7 at MWC If there is one rumor that tends to come and go and agonizes Windows Mobile fans, it’s the one about a Zune phone. Although it’s not officially confirmed, Gizmodo has it on good word that Microsoft will be introducing a Zune phone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona this year. More specifically, it will be a Windows Mobile 7 phone with Zune features and capabilities, so it’s not a Zune phone, per se. Giz says their source confirmed that “the Zune Phone presentation at Barcelona’s Mobile World ...

Latest Zune Player Comes Language Localized It seems like there is more than one surprise in the latest Zune software update. Apparently the latest version is also language localized. Thus far, Microsoft hasn’t mentioned any plans to sell its Zune hardware outside the US, and the Zune player software isn’t available on the German Zune.net website either, but it seems that once you install the latest Zune player on a non-English PC, all the dialogs automatically ...
