It’s not a secret anymore, Dell is going to release the Dell XPS 15Z which looks like a Macbook-Pro “peer” at PC prices. The Dell XPS 15Z uses a lot of design elements from the late Adamo line of products: aluminum, clean ports, backlit keyboard, and overall nice aspect. However, it improves on the Adamo products by bringing a fast processor (Core i5 or Core i7) and a discrete NVIDIA GPU.

T-Mobile’s HSPA+ blankets 85 million Americans in warm ‘4G’ comfort

The 4G wars are really getting fierce, and we love the smell of bandwidth in the morning. The latest volley comes from T-Mobile, taking this opportunity to let us all know that its HSPA+ network is more pervasive than any other 4G offering in the nation, currently covering 85 million people in the States and growing to 185 million by 2011. Of course, HSPA+ isn’t true 4G in that it’s (theoretically) slower than LTE and WiMAX, a point that AT&T is surely still grumbling about. But, sometimes you have to go to war with the network you have, not the network you might want or wish to have at a later time.

“Looking Glass” is the strange name of the upcoming tablet developed by Dell, which for now is only a rumor but it should actually become a fact in the next weeks.

Anyhow, there aren’t many details about the Dell Looking Glass but we do know that it will feature a Tegra 2 as the processor, and Android 2.1 as the operative system. Other features include a 1.3-megapixel camera and optional TV via DVB-T or ATSC. We will keep you updated about the new of Looking Glass, because it does seem like an impressive device and its name should somehow be related to the display screen and overall look.

Bags have been packed, poker chips have been cashed, and planes have been boarded – and with that, the mobile-focused CTIA 2010 convention in Las Vegas has come to a close. Each time an event like this blows through town, tech heads do their best to distract themselves from their hangovers by writing monstrous posts on which platform or technology “won” the show. When it comes to CTIA 2010, the winner is clear cut and undisputed: Android. They could have called this year’s show “Android Week” and no one would have questioned it. When we said Android went “undisputed” above, we meant it in the literal sense. Windows Phone 7 handsets are still too early in development to come out and play. Palm was only showing the AT&T versions of the Pixi Plus and Pre Plus, which they’d announced in the days leading up to the show. BlackBerry’s biggest news was that their new Twitter client is launching on March 31st. Apple didn’t even show up — not that anyone expected them to, given that these deafeningly noisy…

Dell’s refresh of the Mini 10 didn’t exactly knock our socks off when we got a chance to spend some quality time with it last month, but it did prove to be a solid performer and did as advertised, playing back 1080p content with aplomb — so long as you did it within a player that could make the most of a Broadcom’s Crystal HD accelerator. Now you have a chance to try it out for yourself, with Dell announcing the machine is shipping and, at $409 with a six-cell battery and a 250GB hard drive, it won’t break the bank either. Just steer clear of Quicktime for movie playback and get the most recent Flash beta on there pronto, yeah?
