Well, you have to hand it to the strategy team over at Zipcar . Arguably the largest on-demand car-sharing network, Zipcar went public last year and not long after saw its market cap cross $1 billion . Today finds Zipcar making another strategic move to get its mitts in fellow car-sharing companies, again with a focus on universities, whose students are among the most eager adopters of car-sharing models. What do I mean? The company today announced that it is a lead investor in the $13.7 million series A financing of Wheelz , a junior, university-focused version of itself. Apple Blocks Sales Of Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 In EU, Motorola’s Xoom Next? Back in April when it was just a bunch of harsh words and vicious threats , the beef between Samsung and Apple was pretty entertaining. But things are only funny until someone gets hurt, and this time it’s Europe that will feel the pain. In its never-ending tiff with the South Korea-based Samsung, Apple won a temporary injunction to block sales of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 within the entirety of the European Union, minus the Netherlands. What’s weird is that Samsung seems to have had no idea ...

New service could de-censor the entire Internet Freedom of Internet access is slowly but surely becoming a right that's up there with freedom of speech, and the reason we know this is because governments are clamping down on uncensored internet use. Some new software called Telex could change all that by using the Internet as a proxy for itself.

LED coffee table busts a multicolored move (video) It might look like something out of MJ's Billie Jean, but this colorful LED array won't be under moonwalking foot -- that is, unless the party gets crunk. This colorful grid is actually a table top, brought to you by way of TI's MSP430 microcontroller, and it knows how to get down. The table is made up of 128 frosted glass cubes, each apparently capable of emitting ...

Dell Streak 10 Pro tablet makes global debut in China, we go hands-on There's a Chinese saying that will suit most of our Western readers here: "quenching thirst by gazing at plums." Oh yes, we're talking about Dell's Streak 10 Pro alright. Just as promised, said US company has skipped its home country to debut its first 10.1-inch Honeycomb tablet in China (ka-ching!), and we happened to be at the Beijing press event for some intimate hands-on time. To be honest, you won't be needing many imaginary plums for this Android's rather ...

Possible Atrix 4G Successor Caught On Camera With 8MP 1080p Shooter In Tow Here’s a mystery for you: Images of a Motorola Android handset have surfaced on Chinese blogs, and it looks incredibly similar to the Atrix 4G. In fact, it looks identical save for a few miniscule changes. The pictures come courtesy of IT168 and were published by ePrice.tw , which seems to think that the display will have a contoured design. For one, the Atrix’s 5-megapixel 720p camera was swapped out for an 8-megapixel 1080p rear shooter, which will apparently have its own dedicated camera button along the ...

Adobe’s InMarket to fade into the sunset, AIR marketplace faces similar fate Remember Adobe's InMarket? You know, that marketplace where devs can publish once, distribute anywhere -- like on Intel's AppUp. If you're still drawing a blank, fret not, as the software giant plans to shutter the service come August 31st, leaving developers with a little over a month to download analytics and revenue reports. Also on the chopping block is the company's AIR Marketplace, which the firm now views as redundant given that AIR apps can be published on ...

Frequent Engadget commenter DaHarder took a step away from the Disqus box and snagged this tablet at a local Costco store for $329 ($20 off the regular price), an achievement also unlocked by the ...
