What do I mean? The company today announced that it is a lead investor in the $13.7 million series A financing of Wheelz , a junior, university-focused version of itself. Twitter App for the Zune HD: It works, but it’s buggy and censors tweets (not any more) Update: The app no longer censors tweets. Good, because that was the most ridiculous thing ever. Spoiler: it works, it’s buggy, and I can’t see the sense in using it. Installation was not easy. Oh, sure, loading up the Zune software and navigating to the appropriate section was simple enough, and syncing the application ...

First look and reader giveaway: Lo-Mob, for that retro photo look In case you haven't noticed, I'm a huge fan of iPhone photography apps. When I noticed the $1.99US Lo-Mob [iTunes Link] while doing my weekly pass through the photo apps, I decided to buy it and give it a try. Part of my fascination with iPhone photo apps is that the flexibility of ...

Intel Cedar Trail doubles the speed Looks like the future is pretty bright for Intel’s 2011 Atom chipset platform known as Cedar Trail, as it purportedly will boast double the graphics performance compared to Intel Atom Pine Trail chipset that is set to be released pretty soon. This could be due to the fact that the Cedar Trail processors will be based on a 32mn fabrication process, as compared to the 45nm Intel Pineview processors. However, do tread cautiously as ...

Dragon Dictation speech recognition, now on iPhone
December 8, 2009 – 8:09 am | No Comment
Dragon Dictation speech recognition, now on iPhone We're big fans of Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software for Windows, and now that same dictation engine is the underpinnings of Dragon Dictation software on the iPhone. Just like its desktop counterpart, it types whatever you say, and its accuracy is remarkable. In fact, I used it to type this post, with accuracy approaching 98%. Not bad. After you've spoken your piece, you can copy that text to the clipboard, or send it to an email or a text message. ...
