All about the new, improved App Store in iTunes 9.0.2 Our eagle-eyed blogger David Winograd sent out a breaking news post Friday night to let all of you know that there were changes afoot in the iTunes App Store. Sure enough, those changes appear to have migrated through most, if not all, apps by now. In my opinion, the new design makes more sense in the overall iTunes 9.0.2 layout than the "old" design did. The app icon is now ...

If transforming your living room (or bedroom, or dorm room) into a place that even Jools Holland would be proud to step into is high on your list of priorities, the HexoLight -- ...

Dragon Dictation speech recognition, now on iPhone We're big fans of Dragon NaturallySpeaking speech recognition software for Windows, and now that same dictation engine is the underpinnings of Dragon Dictation software on the iPhone. Just like its desktop counterpart, it types whatever you say, and its accuracy is remarkable. In fact, I used it to type this post, with accuracy approaching 98%. Not bad. After you've spoken your piece, you can copy that text to the clipboard, or send it to an email or a text message. ...

Mirror’s Edge game available for the iPhone in January Last year, the game Mirror’s Edge was released with mixed reviews. Perhaps the world was ready for a game that completely first person with a lot of Parkour. It would appear that someone has created a version of it for the iPhone.

Apps of the Month: Best iPhone Apps of November Last month we launched Apps of the Month: a series dedicated to profiling iPhone apps that you should actually buy, instead of the ones that simply got the most hype. This is a tough task, given the 100,000+ apps on the store and the fact that discovery is an absurdly difficult task, even for those who spend as much time as we do playing with iPhone apps. Of course, we scoured our inboxes and the App Store in search of fun, interesting and useful applications. Some will ...
