Remember the classic RTS known as Command & Conquer? Well, an enterprising coder, Aditya Ravi Shankar, actually recreated the strategy game using nothing but HTML5, where it runs on 69k of Javascript. Why did he set out on such an adventure? For starters, Shankar’s attempt was a self-mandated undertaking in order to improve his coding skills, where he gave himself a one month window to rebuild the game in the browser, and had to comb through the original game’s files in order to obtain all the right sprites, sounds and specs. Nikon Coolpix S9100 extends an 18x zoom from a compact body capable of 1080p video Last we heard from Nikon on the topic of high-end point-and-shoot cameras, it was touting Full HD video and a backside-illuminated 12.1 megapixel CMOS sensor on its S8100. Well, here comes the S9100, still possessing those goodies, but now it's attaching them to a lens capable of 18x optical zoom -- a feature you'd usually expect to find on shooters far bulkier than this pocket-friendly portable. 1 in 3 american ‘borrow’ WiFi from others Capturing web sessions data over WiFi is very easy The WiFi Alliance has published a study in which they found that 32% of people (in the U.S) use a WiFi connection that is not theirs. It is usually the WiFi network of someone nearby their home or work (that makes sense…). Interestingly, many people don’t protect their WiFi network, even with a simple password. I suspect that this is particularly true with older routers where the router user interface could be very intimidating, ...

iOS 4.3 Launching For Everyone On February 14th? It’s pretty much a standard operation at this point: Apple releases one Beta version of iOS — then about two weeks later, they release another. Two weeks after that? Another beta. Right around this point — around the third or fourth Beta — the whispers surrounding a potential release date begin.
