How can we make MobileCrunch better for you?

So here’s the deal. MobileCrunch is doing well. Like really, really well. February was our biggest month ever, and then March went and made February look silly. That makes the people upstairs happy – and when they’re happy, we’re all happy, because we get to make improvements. So we turn to you, dear reader, and ask: What do you want from us? We think we’ve got a pretty good idea of what you guys like at this point, but we wanted to take a minute to lend ...
The Best of Big Download: March 29 – April 4

We're about to enter a very slow period of the year, not typically known for seeing many major PC game releases. However, we should be keeping busy with lots of big announcements in the next few months leading up to E3 in June (at least, you know, we hope). In the meantime, let's take a look back at the highlights from this Passover-April Fool's-Easter week:

3,266 iPad apps and counting

AppShopper is listing 3,266 iPad apps available at the time of this writing. That's slightly more than 100 apps added since this morning. As of the morning of April 4th there were a total of 3,122 iPad apps available in the App Store according to Mobclix, a mobile ad exchange. At launch yesterday, the Wall Street Journal reported 2300 iPad apps available in the App Store.
Of the 3,100+ apps Mobclix counted, 2,523 -- or roughly ...
The smartphone: a shackle once more

Here’s a phrase many of you will remember, probably from the late 1990s: “Yeah, I’d get a cell phone, but I don’t want to be on, like, an electronic leash, you know?” People had land lines, pagers, car phones — the pocketable mobile phone was still a luxury and, to some, an unwanted responsibility. Over the next 10 years or so, the mobile phone gradually reached such high levels of market penetration that it’s quite difficult to find anybody without one. It is simply too practical and ...
What’s next for Apple after the iPad?

I saw this on one of the tech blogs that I read everyday, and thought it looked interesting. Unfortunately, I don’t know if it is real, and the April 1st posting date doesn’t help.
I mean, a head mounted display in the form of a monocle? I’ve heard that it is called the “iPatch”. I don’t think that there is any 3D available on this guy.
Still, this leads me to wonder what the heck will Apple do after the ...
iDisplay app turns your iPad or iPhone into secondary screen – too good to be true?

How cool is this? iDisplay is an app that tricks your computer into thinking you’ve got a secondary display attached, and then pushes what would be on that display onto your iPad or iPhone. That’s… brilliant. I mean, I can think of about a billion uses for this. As many uses as I have uses for my actual computer, in fact. The problem is that there’s some latency, as it sends the display information over wi-fi, so you can’t watch video or play games on it, or ...
1Password for iPad will be free upgrade from iPhone version

Agile Web Solutions, the company behind 1Password, has laid out what I have seen as the most sensible model so far for pricing on iPad apps. They announced on their blog how the new apps will work: They are selling 1Password for iPad for $6.99 and it is aimed at people who do not and will not own the iPhone/iPod touch versions. This version will be all iPad, all the time....
More Data over Voice Services in Usage

With the release of such mobile devices like the iPhone and the Android-based phones, it is not surprising to find that data usage has become more in demand over the traditional voice services. It seems that this has been the trend and it seems imminent that this will continue to do so.
Some phones like the Google Nexus One and the iPhone have focused a lot on data services, allowing users to ...
