I blame Steve Sande for my newest iPad-related purchase. Well, there’s a lot of things to blame Steve for, but it was his reviews of the Tom Bihn Western Flyer and Checkpoint Flyer that had me checking out the company he bought the bags from last year. Casio EX-S200 and EX-Z800 point-and-shoots spontaneously appear with ’super resolution’ zoom We're not quite sure when they'll arrive or for how much -- we haven't heard a peep out of Casio -- but Digital Photography Review is reporting a pair of new pocket shooters from the Japanese company. Both the Casio EX-S200 (pictured) and the EX-Z800 are your standard 14.1 megapixel compacts with 720p video recording and 4x optical zoom, as well as the Exilim Engine 5.0 processing the company introduced this year and the supposedly ...

Panasonic Lumix LX5 Gets New Guts, Lumix FX700 Gets 1080p [DigitalCameras] The Lumix LX5 follows the LX3, a camera that (rightfully) gave up the megapixel race for increased sensitivity. The LX5 goes even further, improving the 10MP CCD sensor and adding a new Leica Lens and powerful image processing engine. The LX5 has a super bright F2.0, 24mm Leica lens and 3.8x optical zoom (as opposed to the 2.0 zoom on the LX3). And it's picked up ...

SD cards branded with an upper-case ‘I’ are faster, yo Since they're theoretically capable of 300 megabyte per second transfer rates, we knew SDXC cards wouldn't stay slow forever. How will we separate wheat from chaff when faster models do appear, though? You're looking at it. This week, the SD Association unveiled the UHS-I specification for SDXC and SDHC cards capable of transferring data at up to 104 megabytes per second -- reportedly fast enough to record HD videos ...

Both shoot 720p video, but the G2's bendy, touch control screen makes it a Micro Four Thirds stand out. The DMC-G2 is the direct descendant of the Lumix G1, the first ever Micro Four Thirds camera. It has a 12.1MP Live MOS ...

Creative rolls out third gen Vado HD pocket camcorder
November 24, 2009 – 3:13 am | No Comment
Creative rolls out third gen Vado HD pocket camcorder Creative sure seems to be taking the incremental approach to upgrades with its Vado HD pocket camcorders, but if you've found the previous two models just a tad lacking, you might want to consider the company's newly announced 3rd gen model. From the looks of it, most of the core specs remain the same, but Creative is promising some improved low light video recording and manual exposure adjustment, along with a new motion detection mode, support for an external ...
