Remember the classic RTS known as Command & Conquer? Well, an enterprising coder, Aditya Ravi Shankar, actually recreated the strategy game using nothing but HTML5, where it runs on 69k of Javascript. Why did he set out on such an adventure? Attention US iPhone users: use a standby alarm clock for now If you live in the United States, you're probably already aware that the nation is set to switch to Standard Time on November 7, moving clocks one hour back. What you may not be aware of is that if you're using an iPhone or other iOS device as your primary alarm clock, it might not make the switch as planned -- and you could end up late to work on Monday as a result. iOS 4 introduced a bug into how iOS devices handle ...

Apparently, a 12-year-old girl in Stanton Delaware was confronted by a man driving a white van. Fortunately, the girl had an iPod Touch. While she didn’t have a “Sex offender prevention” App, she was able to convince the ...

AViiQ Laptop Stand Review–Terrific But Pricey The folks out at AViiQ, via the Max Borges Agency, sent me out a new and thoroughly unusual item to write up today, and I’ve been trying this out and showing it around for the last week or so. The universal reaction is simple: surprise, astonishment, and then sheer horror, in that order. We’re looking at the AViiQ laptop stand, a ...

Kindle for Windows Phone 7 revealed, due ‘in the coming months’ As sure as the sun, Amazon's just announced it'll be bringing Kindle to the Windows Phone 7 platform sometime "in the coming months." The app was shown briefly today at Microsoft's Professional Developers Conference (PDC 2010) and, based both on that and the official screenshot from Amazon's teaser page (above), it's definitely wearing that stylish WP7 aesthetic quite well. Press release after the break, and check out More Coverage for a couple screenshots from its ...

Limera1n iPhone/iPad/iPod touch Jailbreaking Software From Geohot Now Available For Mac Jailbreaking an iOS powered device is very helpful for those looking to unlock the device’s full potential. Not only in many cases does it allow a consumer to use the device on a non authorized wireless carrier but it does so much more. In fact, it gives consumers access to a whole slew of underground mobile applications through the rogue app store known as Cydia. Unfortunately for those who support the jailbreaking movement, with each reoccurring release of iOS comes ...
