New SD Memory Card Design Offers Transfer Speeds Up To 300MB/s

When it comes to technology, speed improvements are always welcome, and the SD Association has developed a new dual-row pin memory card design that is capable of achieving bus interface speeds of up to 300 megabytes-per-second. This is certainly a juicy improvement as products that support the current UHS-I technology support data transfer speeds of up to 104MB/s. The new technology will work with both SDXC and SDHC devices and memory cards and is fully backwards compatible. The design will be part of the upcoming SD 4.0 specification, expected to be released early next year.
