For starters, Shankar’s attempt was a self-mandated undertaking in order to improve his coding skills, where he gave himself a one month window to rebuild the game in the browser, and had to comb through the original game’s files in order to obtain all the right sprites, sounds and specs. According to Shankar, “In hindsight, I might have wanted to take smaller steps and make a tower defense game instead of jumping directly into an RTS. The G-DRIVE mini hard drive aims to bring the best of both worlds – a highly portable form factor that does not compromise on performance. Tipping the scales at less than 9 oz., the G-DRIVE mini can carry up to 500GB of storage space, and is tough enough to handle up to 1000 G’s of shock which ensures your data remains safe against knocks and bumps whenever you travel with it. Since it is bus powered, you also do away with toting another power adapter on your travels. Its fanless cooling system also ensures either 5400 or 7200 RPM hard drives will function nicely and quietly, making it possible for you to work in bed without disturbing your partner. Having being formatted at the factory, the G-MINI is Time Machine ready right out of the box, and requires a simple initialization to have it play nice with Windows operating systems. Each purchase will come with a 3-year warranty, where the specifics on pricing details are available in the extended post.
