Command & Conquer coded in HTML5

Remember the classic RTS known as Command & Conquer? Well, an enterprising coder, Aditya Ravi Shankar, actually recreated the strategy game using nothing but HTML5, where it runs on 69k of Javascript. Why did he set out on such an adventure? For starters, Shankar’s attempt was a self-mandated undertaking in order to improve his coding skills, where he gave himself a one month window to rebuild the game in the browser, and had to comb through the original game’s files in order to obtain all the right sprites, sounds and specs. Yahoo Sketch-a-Search debuts at CTIA 2010

Submitted by admin on March 24, 2010 – 11:47 amNo Comment

I had a chance to meet with some guys from Yahoo, and they showed me one of their newest Apps called Sketch-a-Search. It is primarily designed for finding restaurants. All you need to do is get a general map of the area where you want to eat out at and then draw using your finger where you will be specifically. Some pushpins will appear to show the locations of restaurants and you can sort by type.

Yahoo hopes to use this Sketch-a-Search app to find other things in the future, like real estate, health clubs, and anything that people are looking for within a designated area. If you want this now, you can get it on the App Store for free.
