Remember the classic RTS known as Command & Conquer? Well, an enterprising coder, Aditya Ravi Shankar, actually recreated the strategy game using nothing but HTML5, where it runs on 69k of Javascript. Why did he set out on such an adventure? For starters, Shankar’s attempt was a self-mandated undertaking in order to improve his coding skills, where he gave himself a one month window to rebuild the game in the browser, and had to comb through the original game’s files in order to obtain all the right sprites, sounds and specs. According to Shankar, “In hindsight, I might have wanted to take smaller steps and make a tower defense game instead of jumping directly into an RTS. b3df74031f420x0.jpg iPad sales actually 120,000 on the first day?I once heard that the iPhone has $200 of technology inside, but it sells for much more than that. I can’t imagine how much profits could be made on 120,000 iPads.

I believe we previously reported that 90,000 were sold last Friday, but it would appear that the number is more like 120,000. About 69 percent were Wi-Fi versions, and the rest were 3G. As far as the memory was concerned, sales were pretty even on the 16GB, 32GB, and 64GB.

Oh, yes, this is probably the beginning, with no end in sight.
