For those not familiar with the MediaSmart Server EX495, it’s the latest generation of network storage appliance for consumers. It uses the Windows Home Server operating system and handles up to four hard drives as one logical space with built-in data duplication. A connector software installed on each client (PC or Mac) performs backups in the background. This is one of the most consumer-friendly NAS out there.
