Well, an enterprising coder, Aditya Ravi Shankar, actually recreated the strategy game using nothing but HTML5, where it runs on 69k of Javascript. Why did he set out on such an adventure? For starters, Shankar’s attempt was a self-mandated undertaking in order to improve his coding skills, where he gave himself a one month window to rebuild the game in the browser, and had to comb through the original game’s files in order to obtain all the right sprites, sounds and specs. For the 300 million or so of us living Stateside, the Nokia N900 is now available. This Maemo 5-powered smartphone arrives one week later than what was promised in the press release, but like the age old adage goes, better late than never, eh? Powered by a Cortex-A8 processor, you get 32GB of internal memory to get you started right out of the box. The delay hasn’t affected the recommended retail price of $649 for an unlocked set though.
